Key Responsibilities

About You

Rubber Production Machine Operator

About the Role

SEC Business Group Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Rubber Production Machine Operators to support our growing conveyor, rubber production, and industrial services operations. This role involves operating and monitoring machinery used in the manufacture, processing, and preparation of rubber products in accordance with safety, quality, and production requirements.

The position is hands-on and suited to candidates with experience in industrial rubber production environments.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:

  • Operating, setting, and regulating rubber production machinery and equipment
  • Loading, measuring, and mixing raw materials and compounds in accordance with production specifications
  • Operating rubber moulding, extrusion, vulcanising, curing, and finishing equipment
  • Monitoring machine performance and adjusting controls to maintain product quality
  • Inspecting finished rubber products to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards
  • Identifying faults, defects, or equipment issues and reporting them appropriately
  • Performing basic maintenance and cleaning of machinery and work areas
  • Maintaining production records and documentation as required
  • Complying with workplace health and safety policies, procedures, and standards at all times
  • Working effectively as part of a production and operations team

 

Relevant Specialisations

Applicants with experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, applicants should demonstrate:

  • At least 2 years’ relevant experience in rubber production, rubber processing, or a closely related industrial manufacturing role
  • Experience operating industrial machinery in a production environment
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures
  • Good attention to detail and quality control
  • Physical fitness suitable for manual and machine-based work
  • Ability to work shifts and overtime where required
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record keeping and reporting
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety

Formal trade qualifications are desirable but not essential where equivalent practical experience can be demonstrated.

Belt Splicers - Conveyor Maintenance Technician

We are currently seeking Experienced Belt Splicers to join our labour pool. These positions involve rostered site work across Port Pirie, Adelaide, and at times Mount Gambier. Candidates must have unrestricted work rights in Australia and be willing to undergo pre-employment checks

Must hold a relevant trade qualification in mechanical fitting, engineering, or related field

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform conveyor belt splicing, including fabric and mechanical joins
  • Install, repair, and maintain conveyor systems and fixed plant equipment
  • Conduct routine inspections and complete detailed QA/QC documentation
  • Operate hydraulic winders, pinch drives, and other splicing equipment
  • Install belt cleaners, scrapers, ploughs, and hard skirt systems
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying system faults and proposing upgrades
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and reporting requirements
  • Occasionally supervise or mentor junior team members

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in belt splicing or conveyor maintenance
  • Proven technical knowledge of splicing methods, alignment, and troubleshooting
  • Physically fit and able to work in high-intensity environments
  • Willingness to travel across multiple sites and work rosters (including weekends/overtime)
  • Current driver’s licence and high-risk work licence
  • Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets (or willingness to obtain)
  • Forklift licence
  • Ability to pass Drug & Alcohol screening and hold a Police Clearance
